Complaint about one of your dealers

Your Tulsa OK dealership---Jim Norton Toyota sold my son a Venza on 12/4/21. They deceived my son with numerous unethical practices and the resolution has still no been resolved since they still owe him $899. The GM at that dealership appears to be the one that is not willing to send my son the final settlement. They have said that a check has been sent out but only part of this resolution has been received. I have never seen a dealership that comes close to the deceit and greed exhibited by this seller. I have contacted the BBB and they have offered some help. Your help in this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!!! Bill

Brake job ruined our car now needs a complete brake overhaul

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Before we left to stay in Florida several months we had new tires a brake job and a new battery put in by Jim Norton Toyota in Tulsa Oklahoma . We drove it to Florida then a week later we started having problems with our brakes. We called Jim Norton and they said we would have to bring it in . We told them we would not be back till June and it was unsafe . No offer at all to help us out to have our brake job fixed. Finally we decided the car would have to be towed and told Jim Norton we were thinking of an attorney . Then all the sudden they said two months later we could take it in to another Toyota dealer. This Toyota dealership said because we left it sitting it would have to have major work. We had no choice in February when we called Jim Norton as it was unsafe to drive . We will see what this guy says I expect Jim Norton should have told us when they did the bad break job. Instead they took our money.

Jim Norton Toyota - 2014 Ford Focus Car Review

I signed a contract thinking i was getting a certain rate. Well i was called back to resign the papers. What i failed to read the papers that actually it was a higher rate. No wonder the finance guy kept only showing me where to sign. He knew exactly what he was doing. He was ripping me off. Yes i should have read what i was signing, but then i thought they were honest. It only confirms that CAR DEALERS and Lawyers are two of the most CROOKED types around. So DONT SHOP NORTON TOYOTA, THEY ARE WORSE THAN NIGERIAN SCAMMERS

2015 Toyota Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Jim Noton of OKC, had a price for a 2015 Toyota online $36,495 I went and test drove when I asked the price they said $49,900 even after I showed them the internet price they said that was not the MSRP price. I'm not sure if this is false advertisement, but sure sounds like it.

Jim Norton Toyota Lawton, Oklahoma

Dear Jim Norton Toyota of Lawton, Oklahoma – On Saturday, August 4, 2012, I traded in my 2011 FJ Cruiser to purchase a 2011 Toyota Tundra from your showroom floor. To my unpleasant surprise, when I left the dealership and sought to set the trip odometer to travel from Lawton to Galveston, I discovered that the "New" truck that I had just purchased had over 1200 miles on it. At that exact moment, I thought about coming back to your dealership and addressing this issue directly. Since I didn't have time and needed to get back to Galveston, I remain quite frustrated that I essentially purchased a "used" truck from your showroom floor. The finance person clearly indicated to me during the signing that the truck had less than five miles on it. I have to the paperwork that clearly demonstrates this. During my official Toyota survey, I gave your dealership low marks for failure to make full disclosure to me related to the mileage on the truck. I go back and forth, but still remain frustrated that knowledge of the mileage on the truck was not clearly brought to my attention prior to my purchase of the vehicle. Over the past few days, I have spoken with a customer service representative named Jennifer. Jennifer most likely contacted me as a result of my Toyota survey. Jennifer was quite professional in explaining what happened and that indeed, a mishap occurred. In her investigation, Jennifer informed me that the original salesman, David, had a fact sheet of sorts that actually showed the mileage on the vehicle and that the finance signing person never saw this document when I was signing financial documents for the truck. I am writing you because I have several concerns as it relates to my experience. In addition to the finance person either not knowing or sharing with me the mileage on the Tundra, I do not feel that I was informed whatsoever of the mileage on the truck. I do not recall the salesman, David, ever going out of way to clearly state to me that the truck I was about to purchase had over 1200 miles on it. Not even close. I do not recall the document that Jennifer referred to, and I have saved ALL of the paperwork from the purchase transaction. Perhaps my most pressing concern relates to the ethics of your dealership, Mr. Norton. Is it common practice to sell a vehicle as "new" when it has been driven and has a significant number of miles on it? I do not know your policy, but as a consumer, I can assure you that had I had known the mileage on the truck was over 1000 miles, I would have negotiated a much further discount on the price or I would not have purchased the vehicle. I am well aware of the legal definition of what constitutes a new vehicle; essentially a new vehicle is one that has never been titled in a purchase. However, I have no idea or no control of how that truck was driven for the first 1252 that I did not have it. I do not know if someone drove over a speed bump, a curve, or gunned the engine. 1252 miles is a significant number of miles for a showroom car to have been driven prior to a new purchase sale. This leads to my next question. What is the official policy of Jim Norton with respect to maximum mileage on showroom vehicles. My father was once a car salesman for Four Stars Cars in Walters, Oklahoma. He once told me that a new car is new when no one has driven it. Even when a car comes from one dealership to the next, it is transported on a flatbed tow truck as a means to not accumulate miles. Again, I am relatively curious as to your stated policy on the number of miles that can be incurred on a new vehicle. My primary reason for raising these concerns is that I don't wish for anyone to experience what I experienced. I don't want anyone to think they are purchasing a new car that has less than five miles on it only to find out later, after the purchase, that the vehicle has well over 1200 miles on it. I genuinely would like to know your company's policy on this matter. Although I am grateful that your customer service person contacted me, it is my hope that your company could adopt a policy to never to this to another customer in the manner that it happened to me. Sincerely yours, Leonce "Hank" Thierry 2013 Avenue M Galveston, Texas 77550 (409) 762 **** Home (409) 771-**** Cell

I can't fathom that someone would buy a car without looking at the odometer. You're just as much to blame for not doing something so basic.
